The images and photos below have all been at the forefront of GFiMP at one time or another, some for a day, others for years.
For the 2015 Christmas holiday season.
"Paris Peace Symbol" created by French graphic designer Jean Jullien
in response to the 13 November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris.
This photo of plumeria—or frangipani—flowers was only up for a few days
following the terrorist attacks in Paris. I chose it for its symbolic meanings of
beauty, devotion, immortality, and for its healing power in certain cultures.
Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Beni Tsukasa') in Lyon's Parc de la tête d'Or.
Chosen for its rich autumn red foliage.
Swamp Cyprus (Taxodium distichum), also from Parc de la tête d'Or.
This photo was only up for one day, 31 October 2015, in honour of Halloween.
I usually never post photos of my family; I believe this was only the second time.
My youngest son enjoying the freaky fun of his first real Halloween party.
This one speaks for itself — it was the title image for GFiMP during most of the
2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
As the title photo on GFiMP for several weeks during October 2015, this image
won second place in the 2015 Bon pied Bon oeil photo contest, whose theme was
"urban nature". It was the first time I entered, and won a prize, in a photo contest.
When my son first began playing rugby, I was eager to experiment blending my action
photos with the effects generated by the ToonIt plugin from RedGiant.
The view walking down the Montée de la grande côte from the Croix Rousse.
This was the original title image when GFiMP went live
on 6 April 2010 and was our identity for several years.
